SPARC is a nonprofit collective dedicated to providing lab-tested, affordable, high quality cannabis and subsidized health services to our members.

We aim to educate our patients about cannabis treatments and other alternative health approaches to supplement their medicine.

SPARC advocates for government change. We seek to be a voice for the implementation of best practices for the regulation and taxation of medical cannabis. Download a press kit here.

To become a SPARC member, all you need to do is two things:

Come into the dispensary at 1256 Mission Street with your doctor’s recommendation and a government issued ID or drivers license. (Note: You do not need a medical marijuana patient ID card to become a member – just bring in the original copy of your doctor’s recommendation.)
Fill out a registration form.
After we verify your recommendation and receive your registration form, we will give you an official SPARC membership card. And that’s it – you are officially a SPARC member!

We ask that new patients please arrive a half hour before closing to allow for extra registration time.

Designated Caregivers:

Designated Caregivers are welcome at SPARC. If your doctor did not provide you with a verifiable document which designates caregiver/patient status, SPARC will allow a patient to designate one caregiver. A SPARC Caregiver Designation form, available for download here must be signed by BOTH patient and caregiver. Caregivers and the patients they represent must both complete the standard SPARC registration form.

Caregivers arriving to SPARC to sign up both themselves and a patient who cannot be present must bring:

Two Completed and signed registration forms found here (One for the patient, one for the caregiver)
One completed and signed Caregiver designation form (Either your physician’s form or the SPARC form found here)
Physical Valid State or government issued ID’s for both the Caregiver and Patient
Patient’s Verifiable Medical Cannabis Recommendation.

There is a Lakota Saying that “Everything is Medicine,” meaning that in the right hands, everything is useful. SPARC’s approach to healing involves providing members with a wide array of healing tools to confront their unique health challenges and improve their daily lives.

While members of our collective come to us first for medicine, over time we want them to utilize other healing techniques that can help them address their problems.SPARC offers access to centuries-old healing traditions, including traditions where cannabis has been used to foster self-healing through meditation.While cannabis has been popularized in North American pop culture as a hazy, sleep-inducing substance, many South Asian cultures traditionally use cannabis for selective meditations as a means to awakening.

In India, there is over 3,000 years of history behind cannabis as a tool for healing in Ayurvedic medicine, as well as an aide in spiritual practice. To learn more about ancient traditions that used cannabis, visit the Spiritual Use of Cannabis section of our website under Cannabis Research.
